Questions for the City Council Candidates

We would like to you to speak for 10 minutes or so on some of the following questions:

·         What is your position on funding for the Comp Plan rewrite in the upcoming budget?

·         What areas of the Comp Plan and Title 21/22 need the most attention?  Is there enough language to promote responsible development?  How should the relationship between public interest and private property rights be defined?  How should our Plan address protection of the natural environment?  What issues on the horizon are not addressed in the current Plan?

·         What is your position on increased funding for a Planning Department and additional staff?

·         How can Title 21/22, and the vision of the Comp Plan be more fully enforced without discouraging development?  Will enforcement of a clear vision for Homer discourage, or encourage development?
